McBride Church

McBride Church, established 1792, is on the site of an earlier Episcopal Church known as "The Forke Chappel," built prior to 1728.

Methodists assumed responsibility for "finishing and keeping repair" of the current building, which was being rebuilt --apparently after a fire. This new church became McBride Church. It was named for Elisha McBride, a community leader and a member of the General Assembly, who played an important part in the beginning of Methodism in Camden County.

McBride Church is located in the Pearceville community below South Mills.
